Eileen Solyntjes

Eileen Solyntjes, age 97, of Springfield, MN died on September 29, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Home. 

Visitation was on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Springfield. Funeral Service was held at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery. 

Memorials are preferred to St. Raphael’s Catholic Church or St. John Lutheran Home. 

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. 

Eileen Solyntjes was born on November 14, 1927, in New Ulm, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Schreiner) Guendner. She attended St. Raphael’s School and Springfield Public School. Eileen was united in marriage to Philip Solyntjes on November 14, 1950, in Springfield, MN. She enjoyed being a homemaker and mom. Eileen enjoyed cooking, reading, word search puzzles, and playing cards. She was lucky at the casino when she was able to go. Eileen was a member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church where she participated in the Altar Society and CCW. 

She is survived by her children -Rosemary DeZeeuw of Lake Benton, MN, Patrick (Cindy) Solyntjes of Alexandria, MN, Scott (Shirley) Solyntjes of Sibley, IA, and Daniel Solyntjes of Minnetonka, MN; grandchildren - Robb (Markyn) Solyntjes, Amanda (Kevin) Triplett, Anthony (Sarah) Solyntjes, Father Matthew Solyntjes, Phil (Katrina) Solyntjes, and Sam (Sophie) Solyntjes; and great grandchildren - Blake, Claire, Caleb, and Autumn. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law - Stan DeZeeuw; and sisters Deloris Matison and Ruth Clyne.
