Jane Peichel

Jane C. Peichel, 86, of Sleepy Eye, died Friday, June 23, 2017, at the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 29, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye.  

Jane Catherine Stimpert was born May 1, 1931, in Springfield to Raymond and Mary (O’Shaunessey) Stimpert. She married Lawrence “Lerry” Peichel April 3, 1956, at St. Raphael Catholic Church. The couple had four daughters and two sons whom they raised on their farm in rural Sleepy Eye. Besides being a homemaker, Jane also worked for the Rural Electric Association and did secretarial work at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and worked in real estate.   After their family was raised, Jane and Lerry converted their farm house into a rural Bed & Breakfast where they enjoyed entertaining visitors for many years.
