Janet (Manderfeld) Erickson

Janet (Manderfeld) Erickson passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the age of 73. A private family gathering to honor her life will be held at a later date. 

Janet was born in Springfield, Minnesota on July 11, 1952 to James and Bernice Manderfeld. She attended St. Raphael School, and graduated from Springfield High School in 1970. On July 15,1972 she married Bob Erickson. They made their home in Bloomington, Minnesota, where they still resided.  

She was a kind, compassionate, generous person with a bright smile. She loved children and animals, and her gentle nature drew them to her. 

She enjoyed traveling with Bob, often on Caribbean cruises or to Florida during the winter. She loved the warm sunshine! One of her other favorite places was at their cabin in northern Wisconsin. She liked to fish, but frequently she could be found just appreciating the tranquility of the lake, a crossword puzzle in her hands. She got great pleasure from collecting Precious Moments, Disney, and Peanuts articles, which were proudly displayed in their home. She was also a dedicated Minnesota Twins fan, and rarely missed a TV or radio broadcast. She and Bob made many trips to Kansas City to watch the Twins play the Royals. 

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Bob’s parents, many aunts and uncles, and several cousins. 

Survivors include her husband, Bob Erickson of Bloomington, MN, brothers and sisters: Loren (Carol) Manderfeld of Bloomington, MN, Vince (Nancy) Manderfeld of St. Augusta, MN, Becky (Don) Waskosky of Mankato, MN, Dave of Champlin, MN, and Barb (Ray) Wagman of Emily, MN, along with nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
