Jon M. Roiger

Jon Michael Roiger, 47, of Mankato, died on Dec. 24, 2017, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester.

Jon Michael Roiger was born on Easter Sunday, March 29, 1970, to Joe and Dee (Miller) Roiger at the Springfield Community Hospital. He graduated from Sanborn High School and attended classes for Fluid Power Technology at Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Granite Falls. He recently moved to Mankato. Jon loved fishing, ice fishing, all sports especially Gopher Hockey, NASCAR, Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, Mexico, NASCAR races, and Canterbury Downs. Jon loved getting his family together and celebrating. He was generous and had a great sense of humor. Jon will be greatly missed. 

He is survived by his mother, Dee, of Springfield; siblings, Paul of Coral Gables, Florida, Sue Steffl of Springfield, Mark (Kate) of Granite Falls, and Joe (Tara) of New Prague; nieces and nephews, Molly (Aaron) Slama of Mankato, Shane (Heidi) Steffl of St. James, Morgan and Jake Roiger of Granite Falls, Emily and Allison Roiger of New Prague; and a great niece, Josie Slama of Mankato. Jon was preceded in death by his dad, Joe, in 2006.

A private family memorial service will be held.
