Lorna Stern

Lorna Stern age 83, died on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at Wood Dale Home in Redwood Falls.

Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn with Pastor Matthew Sprunger officiating. Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. 

Lorna Theresa Stern was born on May 16, 1934, to Lawrence and Emilie (Raddatz) Stern on her grandmother’s farm in Redwood County. She attended country school until fifth-grade, Zion Lutheran School until eighth-grade, and graduated from Sanborn Public School. Lorna worked as a housekeeper, at Ben Frantz poultry processing plant, St. John Lutheran Home, and Del Monte Foods. Lorna was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn where she was active in the Ladies Aid and was a member of St. John Lutheran Home Auxiliary. Lorna enjoyed flowers, embroidery quilting, and visiting with friends. 

She is survived by her siblings, Delbert (Gayle) Stern of Bloomington, Dale (Arline) Stern of Crystal, and Karen (Jerry) Steinbach of Champlin; niece, Julie Stern and her children, Chris, Andrew, and Alex; nephew, Eric (Emily) Stern and their children, Amelia and Aaron; niece, Maria (Bruce) Reedstrom and their son, Nathaniel; and nephew, Daniel Steinbach. Lorna was preceded in death by her parents, and nephew, David, in infancy.
