Matthew Raymond Krueger

Matthew Krueger age 2, of Springfield died on October 17, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. 

Visitation was on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield Chapel and continued Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield, MN. Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Raphael Catholic Church on Friday at 10:30 a.m. The clergy was Father Jeremy Kucera. Interment was at the St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery in Springfield, MN.

Mattie was surrounded by family and love during the time he had with us on this earth. He was a son, brother, grandchild, cousin, friend and a bright light in everyone’s life. Some of his favorite activities to enjoy was riding in the fire truck, going to the races, or calling windmills - “windows.” You could often find Mattie outside playing, following and learning from his older brother or chasing after frisbees for the family dogs. He loved snuggling with mom and dad and would often sneak into their bed at night. He loved spending the night at his grandparents and Sunday gatherings with the whole family at the farm playing with his cousins. He will forever be in our hearts and a precious angel looking over us. We hope his life will live on through the gifts he gave others.

He is survived by parents - Annah and Colton; brother - Ali; grandparents - Vicky and Matthew, aunts and uncles - Amber and Jeremy, Ryan and Sam, Sydney and Issai; cousins - MaCoy, Teagan, Braxton, Arianna, Gavin, Emma, Blake, Milo, Bristol; and stepfamily - Doug and Darla, and Tanner.
