Thomas Veerkamp

Thomas Veerkamp age 87, of Comfrey, MN died on April 26, 2025, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. 

Visitation was on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and continued on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey.

Service was held at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. 

Interment will be at the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Comfrey, MN.

Thomas Veerkamp was born on June 22, 1937, in Mountain Lake, MN the son of Francis and Dorothy (McShea) Veerkamp.  Tom attended St. Paul Catholic School in Comfrey.  He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged.  Tom was united in marriage to Pauline Eckstein on July 22, 1961, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Comfrey, MN.  The couple farmed and raised their five children.  Tom raised horses and was a member of the MN Draft Horse Association enjoyed farm auctions, hosting the Annual Consignment, Auction, visiting and social time while enjoying a cup of coffee.

He is survived by his children - Michael (Chris) Veerkamp of Milaca, MN, Robert Veerkamp of Comfrey, MN, Jeff (Jill) Veerkamp of Comfrey, MN, Mary Kay (Adam) Reichow of Princeton, MN, and Kathleen (Mark) Riebl of Milaca, MN; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 6 siblings.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife - Pauline in 2007, a sister, and a daughter in infancy.
