Vern Nelson

Vern Nelson, 87, of Prior Lake, Minnesota, passed away on February 20, 2024.  Mass of Christian Burial was held February 27 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Prior Lake.  Burial was at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Morgan, Minnesota.

Vern was born September 28, 1936 in Brown County to Thomas and Mabel (Groff) Nelson.  He grew up in Springfield and graduated from Morgan High School in 1954.  He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1958.  He married Dorothy Heiling of Morgan on January 10, 1959.  He was a mechanic and the family lived in the Twin Cities area.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; children, Susan, Jeff, Randy and Jodi; grandchildren; great grandchildren; siblings, Delmar, Dave, Gladys, Ed, Arlene and Wally; and other loving relatives and friends.
