Springfield Elementary observes 9-11

Students at Springfield Public Elementary School observed the twenty-fifth anniversary of the 9-11 attacks on the United States last Friday morning.  They learned about the event during a special assembly.  Following the assembly, all K-6 students and staff were each given American flags, totaling 2,977 flags to represent the number of lives lost in the attack. They created a large display in memory of all the lives lost on 9-11 on the lawn at the south entrance to the school.
