Springfield hosts One-Act Sub sections

Springfield hosted the 2026 Sub-Section 7 Class A One Act Play on Saturday, January 24, at Springfield High School. Thespians traveled from the area to participate in the day long competition. 

Springfield hosted six schools including Sleepy Eye United who performed Nellie by Robbie Steltz, New Ulm Public who performed A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare, Mountain Lake who performed Pearl by Mandy Conner, St. James Area who performed Queens by Kristen Doherty, Cedar Mountain who performed Small Actors by Stephen Gregg and Madelia High School who performed Brian the Comet by Emily Hageman. Springfield performed One Lane Bridge by Stephen Gregg. 

The top two performances will move on to the Section tournament. Taking first place was Mountain Lake and second place was New Ulm Public.
