Wilhelmi named Springfield Teacher of the Year
Brandon Wilhelmi has been named the 2026 Teacher of the Year at Springfield Public School by the Springfield Education Association. A member of the faculty for thirteen years, he is honored and extremely grateful to be selected by his fellow teachers for the award.
Wilhelmi grew up in Clements, Minnesota and attended Springfield Public School. He was a member of the Class of 2004. After high school, he attended Southwest State University in Marshall where he earned a degree in Elementary Education and played baseball. Following graduation, he was a substitute teacher and paraprofessional in and around the Marshall area. In the fall of 2010, he got his first full-time job teaching fifth and sixth graders at Lakeview Public School in Cottonwood. “I had an amazing two years there and am forever grateful that they gave me a chance. I met so many great people that helped me as an early educator,” he said in a recent interview.
