Remembering the 2011 Boys State Basketball Championship

     Team members of the 2010-11 Springfield Tiger Boys Basketball team were in attendance at the Tiger boys basketball game Friday evening.  They were celebrating winning the Minnesota State Class A Basketball Tournament fifteen years ago in 2011.  They captured the championship crown with a 70-58 win over previously unbeaten Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa in the state finals.  The Tigers advanced to the championship game with wins over Upsala 63-53 in the quarterfinals and 63-55 in overtime over Chisholm in the semi-final round.

     The Tigers ended their 2010-11 season as the Tomahawk Conference Champion, Sub-Section 2A Champion, Section 2A Champion and Minnesota State Class A Champion with at 26-3 overall record.
