Season-end Awards are presented to Wildcat Tennis players
“With 27 players, this is the largest team we have had in the 10 plus years that I have been coaching with River Valley Tennis,” stated Head Coach Brandon Andrews.
The Wildcat Tennis Banquet was held on Thursday, October 23, where Coach Andrews spoke of the season.
He later stated, “It was a tough season overall but it was not unexpected. We knew we had a huge team full of girls that are willing to work and improve every day but there is simply one thing we cannot teach—experience. Experience is what a lot of the other teams in our section have and it is our biggest weakness right now. Even though the wins weren’t there this year, I am very happy with the growth the team had and I still found it to be a successful season for us.”
Awards were given out to teammates in a variety of areas including the team receiving the Minnesota State Tennis Coaches Association Silver Academic Award. This is an award for teams that have a cumulative GPA between 3.5-3.74.
Varsity letter recipients included: Morgan Arnsdorf, Taylor Berkner, Alayna Beyer, Alisyn Danielson, Randee Dombek, Kylie Fischer, Dani Junker, Selene Krohnfeldt, Tori Matter, Reagan Moody, Lexy Nelson, Chloe Okerman, Delaney Rex, Jazmine Robertson and Bronwyn Sorenson.
Senior, Taylor Berkner, received Senior Academic All-State Award Winner for a GPA of 3.75+ and a contributing member of the section roster and was also named to the Big South All-Conference Selection.
