Tiger Boys Basketball moves on to Semifinals

On Tuesday, March 3, the Springfield Boys Basketball team played in round one of Section 2A playoffs against #19 seed the Martin County West (MCW) Mavericks. The Tigers would overwhelm the Mavericks 73-39.
The game started very slow, but as the half came to an end, the Tigers were ahead 46-16. Springfield would hold the lead for the entire half winning this one.
The Tigers secured the win, despite a challenging shooting night, finishing 2- for-17 from three-point range, 5-for-11 from free throw, and 46% as a team.
The top performances came from Bryan Buerkle with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals; Parker Kuehn with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 5 steals; and lastly Madden Lendt with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 5 steals. The boys would then take on 16-11 and #6 seeded Mankato Loyola, Thursday night in Arlington.
