Tiger football has strong start to 2026 season

Springfield opened their football season at home hosting the Canby Lancers on Thursday, Sept 3. The Tigers broke a school record with their 80-19 win against Canby.
Quarterback Parker
Kuehn led the passing game with 207 yards, while Max Moriarty added 37 yards through the air and Thomas Hesse finished with 13.
Braxton Brown led Springfield’s receivers with three catches for 96 yards and a touchdown. Madden Lendt hauled in four passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns, while Ely Streich added two catches for 21 yards and a score. Logan Shoen also caught a touchdown pass, finishing with one reception for two yards.
Springfield found plenty of success on the ground as well. Carter Jackson rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown, while Cole Jensen added 65 yards and a score. Max Moriarty rushed for 29 yards and a touchdown, Aiden Moriarty added 16 yards and a score, and Colten Sell also found the end zone on the ground.
Defensively, Sell led the Tigers with six tackles. Streich and Michael Colvin each recorded four tackles, while Thomas Beers, Tyson Horkey, Elizandro Lopez-Rangel and Leo Hovland each had three.
Tyson Horkey and Leyton Anderson each recorded a sack for Springfield, and Beers came away with an interception as the Tigers kept Canby’s offense in check throughout the contest.
