Tiger volleyball drops to Westbrook-Walnut Grove
Springfield 0
WWG 3
Springfield Lady Tigers hosted Westbrook-Walnut Grove in their home opener on Tuesday, September 1. Springfield lost over three sets, 10-25, 24-26 and 15-25.
“Tonight’s score doesn’t tell the whole story,” stated Head Coach Alissa Roiger after the game. “ We faced a Class A ranked team and were challenged from the opening serve. After a tough first set, I was proud of the way our girls responded. They settled in, competed with confidence, and battled point-for-point in a 24–26 second set.”
River Valley Tennis has busy week with win over Luverne and Doubles Tourney
On Saturday, August 29 River Valley Tennis traveled to the Worthington Doubles Tournament. This tournament isn’t scored in the classic way, so traditional results are not available.
River Valley took 4th place as a team overall.
“Each of our six Doubles Teams played 49 games in ranked flights. Our top flight Doubles Team of Chloe Okerman and Selene Krohnfeldt took 3rd place in the top flight winning 32 out of the 49 total games that they played on the day! The first-place team from YME won 36 so it was a close top 3. This tournament is great. It is a fun day with lots of experience gained for our girls,” stated Head Coach Brandon Andrews.
