Tigers baseball team clinches the Tomahawk title

   The Springfield Tiger  boys varsity baseball team had five big wins on their schedule this past week.  They defeated Windom 9-5 in a non-conference game May 6, defeated GFW 16-1 May 7 and beat BLHS 3-1 and 9-0 in doubleheader action May 9.  With the BLHS victory, Springfield clinched the Tomahawk Conference title.  Springfield also played in a tournament  at Milroy last Saturday.  The Tigers came up short in the first game, losing to BOLD 0-1 but won the second game with Lac qui Parle Valley 20-6.

     This week, the Tigers will travel to New Ulm to face New Ulm Cathedral on Tuesday, May 14 at Johnson Park.  On Monday, May 20 the Tigers will travel to Minneota.  Congratulations to Head Coach Brandon Wilhelmi and the entire team on the conference title and best of luck in baseball action this week!
